چکیده

Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) is the largest and one of most complex cellular structures, indicating its widespread importance variety functions, including synthesis membrane secreted proteins, protein folding, calcium storage, lipid biogenesis. Moreover, ER implicated in cholesterol, plasmalogen, phospholipid, sphingomyelin biosynthesis. Furthermore, contact with organelles, such as mitochondria, peroxisomes, Golgi apparatus, droplets, plasma membrane, etc. Peroxisomes are synthesized from a specific section, they related to very-long-chain fatty acid metabolism. Similarly, droplets vital structures homeostasis that formed membrane. Additionally, there region between ER-mitochondria interface called Mitochondria-Associated Membranes (MAMs). This small cytosolic gap plays key role several crucial mechanisms autophagosome phospholipid transfer. Due biological processes, alterations functionality have relevant implications for multiple diseases. Nowadays, plethora pathologies like non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), cancer, neurological been associated malfunctions.

ILDR2: An Endoplasmic Reticulum Resident Molecule Mediating Hepatic Lipid Homeostasis

Ildr2, a modifier of diabetes susceptibility in obese mice, is expressed in most organs, including islets and hypothalamus, with reduced levels in livers of diabetes-susceptible B6.DBA mice congenic for a 1.8 Mb interval of Chromosome 1. In hepatoma and neuronal cells, ILDR2 is primarily located in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. We used adenovirus vectors that express shRNA or are driven b...

An evidence for a potassium channel in endoplasmic reticulum based on single channel recording in bilayer lipid membrane

Introduction Numerous studies have demonstrated the presence of potassium selective channels in membranes internal organelles. These channels are essential to a large variety of cellular processes including intracellular 2+ a signaling, protein recycling, charge neutralization and cell protection. In contrast to the sarcoplasmic reticulum + here potassium channels have been clearly ...

The role of endoplasmic reticulum in hepatic lipid homeostasis and stress signaling.

The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is a critical site of protein, lipid, and glucose metabolism, lipoprotein secretion, and calcium homeostasis. Many of the sensing, metabolizing, and signaling mechanisms for these pathways exist within or on the ER membrane domain. Here, we review the cellular functions of ER, how perturbation of ER homeostasis contributes to metabolic dysregulation and potential ...
